What It Takes to Align Mindset with Purpose
Apr 22, 2025
After reconnecting with my body and rediscovering my spirit, I thought I had found my way.
I had clarity. I had purpose.
I knew what I was called to do: create spaces and places for people to heal and transform.
But then I hit an unexpected wall.
Not physical. Not spiritual.
Mental.
Because knowing your purpose and accepting it are two different things.
When the Mind Becomes the Roadblock
During my “Eat, Pray, Love” chapter, I experienced profound alignment. I used holistic therapies to restore balance in my body. Sacred medicine helped me tune in to the voice of my spirit. I began to feel guided in ways I had never experienced before.
But when it came time to act on that guidance—to step fully into my new identity as a coach, creator, and curator —I froze.
Imposter syndrome crept in.
Self-doubt made itself comfortable.
The voice of my spirit grew faint beneath the mental noise.
Instead of celebrating all I had learned, I became hyper-focused on all that I didn’t know.
I told myself I needed more credentials, more information, more time. I second-guessed my readiness and questioned my worth.
Even though I had just gone through a deep transformational journey, I started shrinking. I dimmed my own light. I didn’t feel confident enough to lead others because I was still learning myself. And that self-imposed doubt turned into a slow moving, heavy fog.
Looking back, I now recognize what I was experiencing: grief.
Grieving the Old You—Even When the New You Is Better
One of my coaching partners, Dr. Lakeya Cherry, helped me name it. I wasn’t just struggling with confidence—I was grieving the version of myself I had outgrown.
The achiever. The expert. The over-functioner.
The woman who always had the answers.
She had been my armor. My survival system. My identity.
And letting her go meant letting go of the mindset that had once made me feel safe—even if it no longer served me.
I had done the inner work. But I hadn’t yet integrated it. And that’s where the real work began.
Shifting My Mindset to Match My Mission
I sought support. And one of the most pivotal decisions I made was joining the Ascension Leadership Academy (ALA), one of the most powerful emotional intelligence training programs and leadership communities I’ve ever experienced.
It was where I remembered what I already knew.
It was in that space that I finally confronted the limiting beliefs that were silently shaping my behavior.
It’s where I stopped visualizing the highest version of myself—and finally gave myself permission to become her.
Because here’s the thing—I knew the Universal Laws—I’d studied them, even practiced them. But when doubt took over, I stopped applying what I knew to be true.
I had forgotten how powerful it is to:
- Recognize that we are all connected (Law of Oneness)
- Understand that energy—not effort—shapes reality (Law of Vibration)
- Realize that our outer world reflects our inner world (Law of Correspondence)
This wasn’t about motivation.
It was about mental mastery.
It was about energetic clarity.
It was about reclaiming the power to choose how I respond to life—and who I believe I am.
From Knowledge to Wisdom
The more I put these laws into practice, the more grounded I felt.
I stopped waiting to feel “ready.”
I started living like I already was.
And that shifted everything.
Because knowledge unlocks wisdom—but only when it’s embodied. And the wisdom I’ve gained along my journey? That’s what I now bring into my coaching, my content, and the spaces I curate for others.
What This Means for You
If you’ve been doing the inner work—but still feel like something hasn’t quite clicked...
If you’re navigating change, questioning next steps, or simply craving more clarity…
If you’re doubting your value, questioning your voice, or shrinking from your own light…
I see you.
And I want to remind you that you’re not off track.
You’re just integrating.
That’s why I created Healing in a Heartbeat: The Laws of the Universe—a set of short, powerful episodes that break down the energetic principles that govern our experience. Making energetic alignment simple and accessible.
It’s not just spiritual theory. It’s a guide to living with more alignment, ease, and clarity.—by shifting your mindset, your energy, and your life.
Start where you are.
Tune in. Try it on. Let it land.
And trust that the wisdom is already within you.
You’re not chasing a new version of you—
You’re not becoming someone new—you’re remembering what's always been true.
Transformation not a reinvention. It’s a return to who you truly are.
